Paavo Järvi and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra’s recording of the complete symphonies of Franz Schmidt, recently released by Deutsche Grammophon, has been named Gramophone Magazine’s Recording of the Month in this month’s Awards Issue.
In July 2019 the German production company “Sounding Images” travelled to Estonia and followed the Järvi family in rehearsal and concert, both on and off stage for a “fly on the wall” documentary. The resulting 45 minute film will now be broadcast this autumn on both Arte (20 September at 17.35 CET) and WDR (4 October at 08.50 CET)
