This week Paavo Järvi is joining Germany’s National Youth Orchestra for a performance of Beethoven Symphony No.7 in Bonn which will be live-streamed on 17th October at 18.00 CET on the orchestra’s Facebook, YouTube and website.
As part of a special work phase, a concert film and video documentation will also be made, capturing Järvi’s work with the young musicians. The Bundesjugendorchester, founded in 1969, is Germany’s leading orchestra for young musicians aged 14 to 19. It is supported by the project company of the Deutscher Musikrat and sponsored by the Berlin Philharmonic.
Paavo Järvi is passionate about working with the next generations of musicians and, ahead of this week’s rehearsals and performance, he commented ‘I am really looking forward to this new collaboration. This Youth Orchestra is an important building block of German music life and, to a certain extent, the foundation of many orchestras – not least for The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.’
Several members of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen started their careers in the Bundesjugendorchester and it was with the musicians in Bremen that Paavo Järvi recorded and continues to perform the complete Beethoven cycle to international acclaim.
