With an acclaimed partnership spanning more than 2 decades, Paavo Järvi and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen are now releasing the first instalment of their new Schubert cycle on RCA Red Seal / Sony Classical. Schubert’s Symphonies no. 7 and 4 are released this month to coincide with the latest tour, which takes them to Vienna and Köln, before returning home to Bremen for the next recordings in the cycle.

Named “Orchestra of the Year” by both Gramophone (2023) and Opus Klassik (2024) the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen’s collaboration with Paavo Järvi is firmly established and internationally praised for its in-depth projects ranging from Beethoven, Brahms, Schumann to Haydn.

Of their performance of Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony in Vienna earlier this year, Der Standard wrote: “The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, under Paavo Järvi, gave one of the most outstanding concerts of recent decades at the Musikverein … Could there be anyone better? For over 20 years, the Estonian has been the principal conductor of the Bremen Philharmonic, and what followed the opening bars of Schubert’s Symphony in B Minor was nothing less than one of the most outstanding and moving concerts of recent decades. In the classical and early Romantic repertoire, hardly any other ensemble can match the Bremen Philharmonic’s level. The audience was captivated by a sonic narrative that was as rich in detail as it was emotionally expansive, almost overwhelming in its emotional truthfulness.”
